I have written a tune, "Come On Dream," and had it recorded by a group we are calling "Democrats Of Soul." If  there's a catchier song that embraces the general over-all dreams about what may come this fall, I haven't heard it (if there is, please point me to it, so I'll know what sort of company my song will be keeping).

So I was watching CNN International, and there was a promo for their election coverage, but what made me do a double-take was when they said "CNN takes you to the biggest events of the election, the Democrat and Republican Conventions!" No "ic" on the end of that, they used the favored terminology of the Wingnuts. I thought I might have misheard so I replayed it multiple times and confirmed it. I wish I had a link to the promo, but stay tuned to CNN/CNN International as I'm sure it will be replayed ad nauseum.

I'm sure most kossacks have heard about the McCain, Rick Davis (campaign manager that lost it on A.Mitchell's show)DHL, OHio, lobbying/layoff  scandal (if not see the story below, after the video).

But now the Ohio DNC/Dems have responded with a crushing anti-McCain/Hypocrite indictment, video slam.

This is exactly what we needed folks. McCain needs to be hit hard; and hit hard often with the truth. It seems the DNC went for the kill!

We don't have to lie. Just ask questions. This is what Obama needs to do till the election. He needs to show voters McCain is a lying, slimy, greedy, corporate, misogynist shill, shell of a former "Maverick" Senator. If he can't, then 527 or DNC groups such as this needs to make the case.

But somebody has to. Let's hope the Obama campaign does the same.

I hate to tell you I told you so, but I told you so:

This guy, Florida State Representative Darryl Rouson (D-St. Petersburg), has been sending mailers to constituents with a picture of him and Senator Obama.  On one occasion (see picture below), he has even claimed to offering advice to the Senator.

Mr. Rouson is also the same man who was captured making homophobic comments on a video which has recently surfaced.

I've just read a book called "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim N. Tabeb (interesting subject matter but the author irritated me no end....)  

Anyway, one of his good discussions covers a field called heuristics and the phenomenon of how our emotional brains and our logical brains interact.  We need both, but there are different messages that appeal to one kind of thinking rather than the other.  

What I see the Republicans doing is direct appeals to the emotional brain.  They have an extremely weak case to make to our rational brain side, so they ignore it.  

Obama has to be very astute in providing his own emotional brain appeals.  His messages need to both attract people to him and counter the Republican's negativity  without giving them any new material to work with.  His rational brain messages are all just fine.  

(I'm going to read Taleb's new book too - "The Black Swan" - so I guess he didn't damage my emotional brain too much....)

I'm pretty sure I was the only Utahn at Netroots Nation and would love to be proven wrong.  

I'm interesting in meeting other Utahns and perhaps organizing a bit.  Looking at what we can do together.

I'm pleased to announce that I'm almost finished with the group of sculptures I'll be exhibiting in my first solo show. I'll be premiering the artwork here on the blog first (and in other cyberspace locales) before the "bricks and mortar" show at True World Gallery in Joshua Tree, CA.

We've been tremendously blessed, so to say, that we have had the field of Democrats that we did.  And even though my guys (Kucinich and Edwards) didn't win, I'll be happy to vote for Barack Obama in the general election.

But there are some angry voters who have stated their intent to vote for or seriously consider John McCain, and I see this as not only a slap to the Democratic Party, or the Progressive movement, but a slap in the face of many very real people.

Hello All,
    I am going to be in Denver the weekend before the Democratic National Convention.  I am going back home on Monday night.  I would LOVE to participate in something convention related while there.  My problem is, I cannot find any schedule of events for the convention.  Yes, I have been to the website.
